Abstract
The Problem & Inspiration
We wanted to explore the future of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). In a hypothetical year 2035, how will humans interact with hazardous, programmable matter?
Most simulations are static. We wanted a “living” system — a Digital Twin that reacts not just to mouse clicks, but to simulated emotional states (Focus, Panic, Flow). We needed an intelligent observer to make sense of this chaos, which led us to the concept of Provotypes (Provocative Prototypes).
Write on Medium
We were inspired by sci-fi interfaces (The Expanse, Westworld) and wanted to build a web-based laboratory that feels dangerous, high-fidelity, and intelligent.
What it does
Neuro-Forge is a high-performance React application that simulates a magnetic ferrofluid using SDF (Signed Distance Field) Raymarching.
Bio-Feedback Loop: The app simulates a BCI (Brain-Computer Interface). As your “Focus” or “Stress” levels change, the fluid dynamics (viscosity, turbulence, spike sharpness) react in real-time.
Future of Design Lens: Design as a Profession (The role of the designer, labor, agencies vs. collectives, automation, etc.)
The Artifact
About the author
Hej , I'm Mehmet fellow from sunny Cyprus living in Sweden!
Interdisciplinary designer , as a pure generalist currently working at H&M UXR - AEM, 3D, AI. Primary focus on Service/Speculative Design and UX research with high competence in Industrial Design and IxD (TUI+UX). Before that I was in MFA IxD at UID - Yes! Umea is cold. I got used to it as Cypriot.
I am eager to do collaboration and co-create projects with a progress-oriented mentality while implementing methodologies like norm creativity, participatory design, co-design, and much more ;) I enjoy creating meaningful experiences while tackling complex & complicated issues.
